as born and educated, Roger Allen earned his degree in Art Education at Texas Tech in 1966. He began his career as a high fire stoneware potter and art teacher in the 60's and 70's. Roger taught art in the San Angelo public schools while establishing his art center.

Since 1977, the Old Chicken Farm Art Center and his own work have received his full attention. Roger's focus changed to bronze casting and sculpture during the 80's, but he returned to clay in the 90's.

Roger is knowledgeable in many areas of art techniques and spends much of his time sharing with others. He remains committed to education by offering a diverse program of special interests for children – who are creators of the future -- and an array of programs for all ages. But, the Old Chicken Farm Art Center may well be Roger Allen's biggest and finest work of art.

All of Roger’s pieces are thrown on the potter’s wheel, airbrushed and hand painted. After two kiln firings, his pottery is food, microwave and dishwasher safe. All designs are original Roger Allen concepts, made only through his studio.
