KL Rasmussen has been working in clay for over 26 years. He received a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts at Utah State University, though some call him a "renaissance man," because KL has been a ski instructor, builder, art professor, draftsman and surveyor. KL loves the outdoors and enjoys fishing, biking, skiing, photography and gardening. Much of his inspiration comes from what he sees in nature. He endeavors to create pieces that are artistic as well as functional. Kerri Rasmussen is KL's assistant, and in KL’s words, “she keeps body and soul together.” Their pottery is handmade and original, not molded or mass-produced. KL and Kerri strive for the highest quality in craftsmanship and design in each of their pieces. Everything they produce is a functional work of art, signed and dated by KL Rasmussen.
The Rasmussen Pottery Collection is art with a function. All of KL and Kerri’s pottery is made with high-fire stoneware clay, fired to 2,350 degrees. It can be used in the microwave, oven and dishwasher. Their glazes are also lead-free and non-toxic.
